We've just received this account of a horrible incident. A big black dog attacked another dog, and the owner was also seriously bitten. Please, if you saw the incident, or know someone who did, please contact us asap. The account follows-
DESCRIPTION: LARGE BLACK DOG, MEDIUM LENGTH HAIR-ABOUT THE LENGTH OF A BLACK LAB. THE MAN WAS ABOUT 5 '9-5'11FT TALL, AVERAGE WEIGHT/BUILD. the owner did not offer any information regarding his identity or help of any kind.
I was at the beach on Friday evening sept 17,.. between 7:30pm and 8:30pm with my 1 year old neutered male dog. There was only about 4 dogs total on the beach. We were mid way on the beach playing fetch when a large black dog (appeared to be a lab mix) owned by a tall man with short dark hair ran full speed towards my dog, got on top of him from behind and immediately viciously bit down! i immediately ran to his side, grabbing my dog from around his waist while my friend tried to help stop the attack. My dog was unable to get free for about 15-20 seconds when the man who owned the dog got there and grabbed his dog. I told him NOT TO PULL them apart because his dog was still attached strongly to my dogs neck/back of head area. The dog also had ahold of my dogs collar and was choking him...my dog was laying on the ground being choked and bitten!! i shoved his dog on the shoulder to attempt to get my dog free when he BIT MY FOUR ARM very hard causing VERY DEEP HOLES, two of the holes are down to the bone and it also broke my arm from the pressure. I screamed out in pain and my friend pulled my dog away while the strangers dog was biting my arm. The bite lasted about 10 seconds before his owner got him off of me. I lost so much blood i nearly fainted and my friend rushed me to the E.R. where i was told my arm is broken and could have permanent nerve damage. My dog also suffered DEEP puncture wounds on the back of his neck and head area.
There was another couple on the beach that night, very close by when the incident happened, they had a yellow lab or golden retriever who they pulled away before he reached the fight.
