Answer

A Yellow flag means a swim advisory is in effect. If there is a swim advisory, you can swim in the water but should be careful when doing so. A swim advisory is in effect when certain conditions require that caution should be exercised when swimming. There may be an increased risk of illness based on current monitoring for E.coli bacteria, or  unpredictable weather patterns or water conditions. Monitor the flag color and follow lifeguards’ instructions if asked to get out of the water.
The Park District monitors the water quality for people, not dogs. Keep in mind just because your dog is allowed in the water, it doesn't mean it's safe for him. Rasised levels of bacteria can also effect your dog.
